So my beautiful friend's wedding is coming up during the summer of next year and I'm on the hunt for something a little bit different. Hence I've been trailing magazines/internet for something unique, which brings me on to this lovely Irish Designer the award winning Marion Murphy Cooney.
Marion has been working in the fashion industry for sometime and is a native Limerick women, she's been a fashion designer since 2005. Her creations are loved by all and have been spotted on the red carpet by celebrities such as Adi Roche, Lorraine Keane, Maura Derrane, Celia Holman Lee, Karen Koster along with many more.
Marion Murphy-Cooney goes under MMC which is made up of bespoke designs and also ready to wear collection. The ready to wear collection designed by Marion came about from the high demand of regular loyal customers and retailers.
Marion also wanted to own her own boutique and so the design atelier was born about a year and a half ago. The design atelier of course has her own MMC designs along with that it's offering other Irish designers to showcase and sell their own pieces in her store too.
She also stock jeans, dresses, casual wear, accessories and jewellery (including the lovely Stella & dot).
Marion's own new collection is about ‘dressing up’, but in a comfortable, confident way. The MMC collection fabrics are satins, brocades, crepes and others that bring an instant touch of luxury. Marion has put huge work into developing good sizing and an excellent ‘fit’ and gone to one of Italy’s leading makers to have her collection finished to the highest standards. It is made in the same factory as labels like Ellie Saab and Etro.

I know buying designer can sometimes seem expensive but sometimes investing in a designer piece particularly an Irish designer, not only are you getting an investment and well fitted, well made tailored piece to suit your own shape , your getting a once off and your also supporting our own by shopping local!
