Fashion independent day & Supporting our local Boutiques

Hey Girls
Happy Tuesday, with Fashion Independant day just gone, It was last Thursday and it created such a buzz, well done to all involved, I thought this post was appropriate.
For those of you not familiar with it,  its a day organised by the Frockadvisor duo, Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon (if you are not on their app go sign up!! Its fantastic), which celebrates all the wonderful local Irish fashion boutiques, and everything they offer.
Its becoming an annual celebratory date, Fashion Independent day is,  and its where people are asked to get out and support local businesses. It encourages you to pop into your local fashion boutiques and see whats on offer, meet the people behind the stores and delve into their fashion secrets and knowledge, The owners are a mindful of information and the most helpful when it comes to fashion!
I'm a true believer in trying to shop local as much as possible and support our Irish boutiques, they have beautiful pieces to match everyone's budget so don't be afraid to pop in for fear you cant afford something, and its always nice to have a browse. (and as you know I'm good at browsing!!)

Blazer alert! & accessories that transform an outfit

Hey my lovelies
Blazers, a girl should as many hanging in their wardrobe as humanly possible..they are so practical and go with almost every outfit!
A statement neck lace is another piece that you should have as 'must have'  accessory.
I previewed this blazer on the blog before, for those who missed it,  this ones penneys
It was €23 and still in stock.
It goes with all types of colours and clothing and I literally have worn it to death.
Most blazers we tend to wear with casual outfits and its amazing what adding a statement neck piece can do to completely transform an outfit.
Pic:Emer +Irish Fashaholic
This Statement neckpiece I bought sometime ago from a lovely lady Emma from The Jewel Genie, it is just beautiful and gives any outfit a little lift.
Pic: Emer +Irish Fashaholic
The Blazer is worn with Tapered Trousers from River Island, but I've also worn this blazer with a tulle skirt and cami, or leather trousers, and it looks fabulous with jeans.
River Island Trousers available here, Tshirt: Penneys €9, Blazer Penneys €23, still in stock, similar available here, Shoes Carvela here. Sunglasses Parfois.

Following on from this post, I will pull together some looks for you, to demonstrate just how easy it is to use one blazer for numerous items of clothing in your wardrobe and pull a completely different outfit together using the same blazer over and over.

Until next time my lovelies
Have a great weekend

River Island high summer 2016

Hey Ladies,
On Wednesday I was lucky enough to be invited to preview River Islands High Summer Collection...the sun was shining in busy Dublin city center and I was dreaming of long evenings..holidays, Ice cream and everything else that comes with sunny weather!
So when I popped into River Islands Press room, my mind set was already on a beach in a fab bikini (lets not think about the bikini body or lack of it for now..mid scoffing of Fudge bar as we type!!) sipping on pina colada!! So I was sold on their Summer Collection as I spotted beautiful swimwear draped on their walls!!
The collection is beautiful,  Vibrant colour, texture and trim details are key features this season – fresher, bolder and wearable as ever, the collection encapsulates everything needed for a Summer wardrobe.
Transitioning in to high summer CARMEN continues with a palette of white, black and red. The trend comprises feminine and pretty with latina influences for a new-romantic peasant vibe
Clean and smart dressing with a nod to nautical is apparent through SPA SEA, focusing on smart dressing, crisp white tailoring, against frayed finishes and raw edgings for a rustic yet contemporary feel.
LE CHIC has an artisan feel with a classic and sophisticated approach to utility dressing. Mixing contrasting fabrications for a contemporary look; suede, nylon and leather are combined.Le Chic offers beach to bar pieces in a rustic palette using natural fabrics for a relaxed and casual style

With a mash up of inspiration, ETIENNE fuses 90’s sport with seventies chic the perfect alternative to festival dressing, steering away from bohemian and fringing, instead focusing on embellishment, crochet and lace.
Overall River Island High Summer collection is vibrant and fun and offers something to suit everyone's style...
Cant wait to get my hands on all of the above, and look uber cool while sipping on cocktails by the beach!! Whose with me!
Until next time

Urban Decay summer S/S16 products & a fabulous masterclass with Danielle Roberts

So last week I was very lucky to attend an amazing masterclass with the fabulously talented Danielle Roberts, in association with Urban Decay Cosmetics Mahon Point.
It was such a fantastic, informative masterclass which was held after store closing hours making it so easy to ask questions and observe without being disturbed.

Pic:Urban Decay
Danielle masterclass was aimed at introducing us to the fabulous new Summer range of Urban decays products ...and my goodness it just increased my insane addiction to their products.
I wanted it all!

The makeup look above was what Danielle recreated for us and she made it look so darn easy!
A nice summery look using all the new summer products which I'll show you below but also adding some bold and eye catching eye colours from the Vice palette

First up was this B6 Vitamin Infused Complexion Prep Spray, and it does exactly that. This bad boy gives the skin a quick hit of vitamins while calming a multitude of sins, in other words reduces and minimizes pores while reducing redness at the same time, Form an orderly queue ladies and find it here
Next up was One and Done, a Tinted Moisturizer, now I'll be honest girls I love my foundation but there is days when I don't fancy putting on full face makeup and I just want a nice tinted moisturizer, especially in the summer. Well this product is perfect for this.
When I saw this I had to have it. It gives nice light coverage but it does allows you to build on this for full coverage, if you wished, just add more of the product to build it up. The main thing that attracted me to this product was it contains an SPF20 which when your getting older (like me) you become keener to protect your skin. The beauty of this product is its available in six different shades to suit all skin types. Available here
Now to my ultimate favourite product, Naked Skin, Urban Decay concealer, we all agreed this is one of the best products out there,  if you don't have this, then add it to your wishlist, this girls is the holy grail of concealers and as Danielle mentioned a little bit goes a long way! you can find it here. Oh another great tip was you can use your naked palette makeup brush to also apply concealer as its perfect for that part of the eye area
Next up was the highlighters and Bronzing...and a tip from Danielle, Ladies forget about Contouring & Highlighting, this summer its all about sculping & strobbing. After Danielle's demonstation with their new highligher's and bronzer's I am in agreement! It was so subtle and just a beautiful look
So want to see the three new highlighters up close? Well here you go!
The Aura ( A light pinkish hue highlighter, really liked this) Sin (A champagne colour, which I loved too) and Fireball ( A peachy tone hue)
Close up of the Sin...adore this one!
And a closer look at the fireball one!
Another tip with these highlighters that Danielle mentioned is, before you dab a bit of highlighter onto your makeup brush, spray a tiny bit of The urban decay setting spray onto the brush, (now a tiny spritz ladies not a bottle load!!) and after a few seconds dab your brush into the product and apply it to your face. This helps lock the highlighter onto the skin and increase the longevity while intensify the highlighter. Genius! All three are available here
Again all about sculpting and strobbing, Danielle used the new collection of Bronzers. These new bronzers are available in two shades. Sunkissed (A peachy tone that would suit our lovely Irish pale skin) and Bronzed ( a darker colour which would suit darker skin tones or if your wearing tan on your face) Both shades you'll find here. I particular love the packaging its just beautiful.
Next up was the Brows and as Danielle mentioned she doesn't like to over do the strong brow that is currently out at the moment and prefers a more defined but natural looking brow. To achieve this she used Urban decay Brow Beater,(here), the Urban Decay Brow Box (here) and the Urban Decay Tamer Gel. (here)
Image result for Urban Decay eye shadown primer eden
After perfectly manicured and shaped brows, next up was the eyes...first up the infamous Urban decay Primer potion in the shade Eden (This girls is a fantastic product too I love it) find it here, it helps prevent eyeshadows from creasing but also keeps your eyeliner and mascara in place all day.
As you can see above this primer is available in a few different shades. I love the sin shade and as Shirley (Mahon Points Urban Decay manager) mentioned it can be used alone on the lid, pop a bit of mascara on and its a quick day time look for eye makeup.
Next up Danielle used the VICE 4 palette which honestly some of the colours terrify me, (only a small amount of shades terrify me), overall the palette is beautiful with a great mix of shades. Danielle used "Bitter" and "Flame" to create a burnt orange smoked out eye (like the makeup look on the model in the pictures above at the beginning of this post), the Vice 4 palette is available in store and here. (again the naked palette brush can be used for apply any colour or base to the eye its so versatile)
Urban Decay eye makeup
To complete the look Danielle added a striking Teal/Green eyeliner (in fact the 1st one in the pic above) It was amazing and looks gorgeous,.. I need to play with colour more! Find them here She then finished the lashes off with the Urban Decay Perversion  Mascara here, which should always be used with the Urban Decay Subversion Primer which is available here

The final look was beautiful and so striking loved it!
(Pic UrbanMUA)
Oh and just in case your wondering..I couldn't resist purchasing the Urban Decay one and done...so gorgeous and you can build it up for a full coverage look too. Perfect!
A huge thank you to Shirley and all the girls on the Urban Decay Counter at mahon point, a fantastic event and Danielle Roberts was unbelievable talented, witty and so informative. Loved it!
Until Next time

My style my way & my endless affair with Jumpsuits .. Love them!

Hey Ladies
Can you believe its almost the weekend again..love it! This weekend I'm off gallivanting to London cant wait..while packing I was trying to figure out what to bring. I wanted something I could wear while casually pottering around the streets of London, but would take me from day to night with one quick change from flats to heels.
Straight away I thought of my Jumpsuits! They are perfect for rolling into a "carry on bag" and take up little or no space, so absolutely their coming in my bag..this particular one below is neatly tucked into the suitcase!
Shot by Emer +Irish Fashaholic
I love a good jumpsuit and when I spotted this Utility Khaki one I had to have it! I picked it up from Asos. It's from New look and I nabbed it for less than €24, unfortunately its all sold out but you can find similar ones herehere and here
Shot by Emer +Irish Fashaholic
This cape is my go to jacket, Its from my ultimate favourite boutique Folkster it was a gift from my husband, (this is becoming a bit of a trend these gifts from the hubbie..but he did and I love it) find similar herehere or here.

A closer look at the cape and Jumpsuit along with shoes, which are New Look and available here, or similar here. Glasses are from a spanish designer Roberto I picked up on Holidays.

I love the fact that the legs you can roll up and I will definitely be pairing them with cons too during the summer.

I love any kind of jumpsuit, they are super chic and so so comfy, although lets not mention having to use the toilet, that's where some jumpsuits can get tricky ..still love them though!
And in the next few weeks I'll pull together a few of my favourite style of Jumpsuits
Have a great weekend everyone
Until next time

My Style, My way..Black and white Staple pieces

Hey Ladies
Happy Tuesday, so I mentioned a while back on my facebook page, that I was changing my blog posts up a little. I'm quiet good at pulling looks together for blog posts but have never actually shared any looks of myself wearing things...I promised this year that I was going to start sharing my style with you guys. And not one to break a promise, here is my first ever shoot for you.

Saturday I met with fellow blogger & Fashion Photographer Emer from Irishfashaholic, along with my friend and blogger Eimear from The Two Darlings, to collaborate together. (Stay tuned later to see what we collaborated on!)
We had so much fun working together and Emer has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to fashion, along with a fantastic eye for photography.
I was apprehensive about doing this photo shoot but she put me right at ease and helped me relax in front of the camera!
I kept the look simple...Classic Black & White staple pieces.
Jacket: Penneys (still in stock) similar here, Tank Top: Only Ireland available here
Tapered Trousers: River Island available here

Everyone needs a staple piece in their wardrobes, and Blazers,  Black trousers along with a cami/black top should be the main things hanging in it...why you ask?? Because you can build a wardrobe around a staple piece...But I will follow up more on how to do this in a future post!
If your going with staple pieces, its nice to keep everything  classy, and simple.
Bag: Gift from Hubbie,
Shoes: Carvela here and here
Close up of the Trousers and Blazer
I kept the accessories simple and wore a small delicate chain necklace
Karma Necklace: My shining Armour available here
(All photography by Emer @Irishfashaholic)

I hope you like this post as much as I did working on this project, stay tuned for more looks I will pull together that incorporates your classic staple pieces, essential to any wardrobe as they never date!

And don't forget to let me know what you think of the look above?
Until next time
